Linking back to the culture jammed logotype created for a brand, this time we are using an unethical company to create an Anti-Advertisement poster. I chose to create this for a fast fashion brand that uses greenwashing to convince buyers that they’re not exploiting workers in sweatshops to produce their shoes. In the past, Nike has been accused of using child labor and supposedly nurturing sexual harassment and discrimination cultures. Plus, its factories are not independently monitored by labor rights groups. And not surprisingly, Nike has been exposed as using Uyhgar forced labor, causing more uproar and boycott against the brand. (Kamprad, n.d.).
When thinking of how to design this anti-advertisement poster, I thought of how I viewed what is happening with this company and how I portray the owner of Nike (Phil Knight). It mainly shows him telling the general public lies about how he treats his workers and the conditions, whilst in the background is how sweatshops and his workers are really treated.
