Website Design Artwork Development (developed from research.)

When thinking about a website homepage, the first consideration is for it to be accessible and include all the relevant features. The overall features of both the website and the companion app will stay the same however the layout will obviously be different, and the website may be more detailed. The colour palette stays the same as does the typography so that it is memorable for the user when using both platforms.

Clearly stated on the home screen is the logo and the tagline companied with a menu button so that users can clearly switch between different sections of the site. On the top right of the screen is an audio button so that people with vision impairments can access this page too. A call-to-action button is placed central beneath the logo graphic so that it is noticeable for the audience to go straight to the purchasing page. A search bar is placed in the top left so that users have free roam to search key words throughout the site.

The next page is where the user can find all the information about the event and can see some related images if they want to research before buying tickets. There is a small section of copy which goes further into the event so the audience is assured about what they are purchasing. The cheese-like border graphic helps to relate the page to the festival and doesn’t shy away from the genre. The user can either use the arrow buttons at the bottom of the page to control the screens, or they can use the second call-to-action button which takes them to buying tickets once again. This button is different from the previous as the text exclaims ‘BUY NOW’ which emphasises urgency to the user.

When thinking about efficiency, it is key that the user doesn’t get confused in the ticket purchasing stage when they fill out all their information. Therefore, the amount they must complete has been severely limited so that they can get straight to the final goal as easy as possible. Their ticket will be sent straight to their email so that the website can return to its original functionality of providing information and error messages are made as minimal as possible. Once the user completes filling out their personal information, they can click their preferred payment method before finalising the ticket obtaining.

The final page of the site is one that users can’t choose to go to from the menu and that is the booking confirmation screen. This confirms the fact that users have reached their end goal and will now be returned to the home screen if they wish to restart this process. It is clearly stated that the user will be automatically redirected so they do not need to worry about navigating their way back. Multiple different UI and UX choices were made to construct a seamless and positive ticket purchasing process through a well-designed and accessible website.
