Introduction into Proposal Research

Motorsport has been traditionally seen as something of a ‘man’s sport’, an area in which women have been marginalised and on occasion actively discourage from participation. (fia.com, n.d.). I became a motorsport fan in the early 2020 season and have had a huge passion for the profession ever since. It was clear from the beginning that the sport is heavily male dominated which encouraged me to want to make a change to help future fans like me feel included.

In conjunction to my passion for participating in a career within motorsport, I have chosen to produce an informative campaign that encourages females to partake in STEM courses and want to push to be part of the current minority of motorsport. I hope that when visiting my work, young girls will push to break the stereotypes of today’s world and taking up interest within engineering. This project will contribute to decreasing the gender gap within the profession and help tackle the larger gender inequality issue around the world. Mixing with my best design skill set, I will ensure that I create something that will make a difference for younger generations today.
