Zaha Hadid was a British-Iraqi architect, artist, and designer who was heavily influenced by suprematism and the Russian avant-garde. She adopted painting as a design tool to “reinvestigate the aborted and untested experiments of modernism […] to unveil new fields of building.” The Guardian newspaper described her as the “Queen of the Curve”, who “liberated architectural geometry, giving it a whole new expressive identity.” Sadly, she passed away in 2016 when several of her constructions were still underway which include the Daxing International Airport in Beijing, and the AI Wakrah Stadium in Qatar.
